Whippet - Nala - Medium - Adult - Female - Dog
This sweet little girl is Nala. She is house-trained and is used to being in a crate durring the day or when no one is at home, and loose in the house when her foster mom is home. She is good with other dogs and plays well. She is a little timid at first, but warms up fast. She will need a home where she can get exercise and have a fenced in back yard to run and play safely in. She is currently in a house with three other small dogs and one large dog. She eats well around them, and plays well too. She looks big in these pictures but is only about 45 pounds. :) She was rescued from a high kill shelter and is now one of our rescue dogs needing a forever home. She is good with other dogs and kids, and has only been around one cat, but doesn't bother it. She LOVES her toys and LOVES to play tug of war with them. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all her vaccines, hearworm negative, on heartworm and flea prevention, and has been de-wormed. She is a beautiful girl and full of personality! If you are interested in meeting this pet and are seriously considering adoption, an online adoption application must be filled out prior to setting up an appointment to meet. Application can be filled out at www.lblrescue.com <http://www.lblrescue.com/> and then click on the “Dog or Cat Adoption Application” Just takes a couple of minutes to fill out. Please answer all the questions completely, and include numbers where they are asked. Un-answered questions and not enough information may lead to your application process taking a lot longer to complete. This way if you are pre-approved to adopt we can do that adoption at that time as well. The meeting will be done at your house so that a home visit can be done at that time as well. If you live out of town we will be in touch with another rescue group in your town to do the home visit for us, but you would have to drive to Murray, KY for the meeting, which is usually done at a foster home or sometimes the dog park if the weather is nice.
Why do I have to pay an ADOPTION FEE? Adoption Fee of $100.00 is tax de-ductable and you will receive a receipt for your taxes. Adoption Fee is required to cover the following Veterinary care listed below: *Routine physical exams (est. cost $40.00)
*Routine de-worming (est. cost $20.00)
*Routine heartworm testing (est. cost $55.00) (dog)
*Routine monthly heartworm and flea/tick
prevention (est. cost per yr. $200.00)
*Annual Vaccinations (est. cost $75.00)
*Spay or Neuter (est. cost $100.00)
*Microchip implant and registration (est. cost
$10.00)
*Grooming, ear cleaning, bath, and pedicure (est.
cost $30.00)
*45 days of complimentary Pet Health Insurance
through Shelter Care. (est. cost $60.00)
Good quality pet food (est. cost a yr. $ 240.00) Total estimated cost that we spend on each dog every year is $800.00. That does not include the cost that we incur if the dog is sick when we get it from the shelter, if it has mange, parvo, needs a dental, etc. We are only asking for you to reimburse our rescue $100.00 for the pet that you are adopting so that we can afford to keep saving pets. So, sure you can get a “free” pet or buy one from someone, but has that pet had all of the above done to it? If not, look at what that “free” or $300.00 pet that has had nothing done is going to cost you. Also, are they going to be healthy, or are you taking a chance on getting a sick pet that is going to have to be hospitalized and cost you even more? Things to think about when adding a new member to your family…… Also keep in mind that once you adopt, even though we have had everything done that can be done to this pet, you will still need to plan on spending at least $500.00 a year on your new friend.
